“To anyone interested to renovate their floors, this review is for you! When I bought my condo in Washington, DC in December 2017, I knew I wanted to change the floors of the apartment, but I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I met with dozens of carpenters and contractors, some promising me great work, without any itemized review of (1) the quality of the wood or (2) the craftsmanship required to get the job done. Many contractors suggested a perfect job and jaw-dropping prices, but I was skeptical. There's no such thing as a "free lunch" - even in the middle of winter. I met with my friends, and received a slew of contact numbers, but when I would contact them, the feedback (to me, at least) was unclear. Time passed.... It's not until July 2018, after exhausting a list of potential contractors that I finally met with Amir at Renaissance Floor and Carpet in Rockville. By this time, I was an expert in flooring, both from reading at length on the internet and having interviewed so many contractors about all sorts of wood, underlayment, demolition, etc. From the moment I met Amir, I knew I had found my contractor. Amir is simply excellent. There is no other way to describe him. He takes great pride in his work and delivers top-notch product. His attention to detail is uncanny. He was upfront, clear, consistent, and professional from the start. He did not promise me the moon for nothing. His work is very good and his prices are competitive, worth every penny. He went beyond the call of duty to make sure I was happy with my choice, explained to me the type of wood I was purchasing, the structure of the wood (in my case engineered wood), the demolition work that is required to remove the wood (and how important it is to do it right), and followed-through at every step. He has a great crew that all really enjoy working with him and respect him, which resonated with me. His sub-contractors are long-term affiliates - not a one time job and out of his network. I have been so happy with my floors, I can't help but tell the world about it! In fact, this is the first time I am posting a review (ever) because I feel so strongly that this man and his shop are a consumer's dream for flooring. If you are serious about your floors, and care about the funds you are spending; you have found the right place at Renaissance Floor and Carpet. Don't waste your time elsewhere.
