“A friend recommended we purchase flooring from Jamie's Carpet Shop. They also recommended we ask for Mark. My wife and I went to their Elyria store back in January. We asked for Mark, but he wasn't there so we worked with the salesperson on duty. He was extremely helpful and we ended up ordering Pergo flooring. The salesperson sent a person to come measure and quote the amount of flooring square footage we would need. He said would need 1,100 square feet of flooring for the 1,000 square feet of actual space. He built in a 10% scrap amount. This meant we would need between 53 and 54 boxes of the flooring. He also quoted the installation charge. A week later we got a call from Mark who said he would be taking over the order. I thought this was a bit strange but if they had an internal commission agreement, I was good with that. We were able to get a less expensive quote to install from an independent contractor who finished the job and the floors look great. When the job was complete, we had almost 5 boxes, or 100 square feet of flooring left. I thought we should keep 2 of the 5 boxes and would be able to return the 3 boxes, which amount to $300. I called today and Mark answered. When I mentioned I wanted to return the 3 extra boxes he said they couldn't take them back since they were special ordered. I was surprised since they were the ones that measured the floor and told me how much I would need. Not the answer I expected so you can guess the rest of the conversation went downhill. As a side note, he never called from the time we ordered the material in January to when it was installed, almost 2 months later to say if we liked it. I would give a 5 to the unnamed salesperson who helped us and a 2 to Mark. Take the commission away from someone else, not allow a return and then not to ask if we are enjoying our $5000 flooring investment. Don't think I will be recommending Mark in the future. Don B.”
